Goldsboro - Mr. Robert Lee Edwards, 64 of 712 Stronach Ave., passed on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Rex Hospital, Raleigh, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00am at St. James Church of Christ DOC, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, NC with Reverend Mark Sutton officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 164 Longs Plant Farm Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a viewing held on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church.
He was born in Wayne County, NC to Irene Edmundson Edwards and Robert Anthony Edwards. He is survived by his mother, Irene E. Davis of Goldsboro, NC; daughter, Domeca Artis of Wilson, NC; granddaughter, Brianna Barnes; grandsons: Tyreik and Derrick Artis all of Wilson, NC; step father, Julius Davis of Goldsboro, NC; four sisters: Geraldine Edwards of Brooklyn, NY, Brenda Williams (Jerry) of Goldsboro, NC, Ilene Romeo (John) of Dudley, NC and Tina Davis of Raleigh, NC; two brothers: Elijah Edwards (Sheilda) of Nashville, TN and Ralph Edmundson (Janet) of Snowhill, NC; a sister-in-law, Sandy Edwards of Newport News, VA; four aunts: Beatrice Edmundson of Fremont, NC, Ellen Corey, Janice Gaye both of Connecticut and Adell Thomas of Washington, DC; great-uncle, Vernon Forsythe (Jennie) of Brooklyn, NC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
