Mr. Robert Lee McClarin Jr.'s Obituary
Dudley - Mr. Robert McClarin Jr., 72, passed on Friday, May 1, 2020 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the celebration of his life will be private for immediate family and friends. There will be a viewing from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC.
He was the oldest of nine children born to the late Robert Lee & Dora McClarin Sr. on July 25, 1947 in Wayne County, NC.
Robert was a Navy Veteran, retiring after 26 years of service. In addition to being a military veteran, he loved being a barber. His hands, which now lay still, loved to renovate homes and rent them. Bob, as he is was called, was friendly to everyone he met and always had a smile and compliment for everyone he met. He will be missed by all he knew because of his friendly nature.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers: Joseph, Kenneth Ray and Michael McClarin. He is survived by the love of his life, Jean and her sister, Anita Parker; his son, Robert L. McClarin, III; three sisters: Deborah McClarin of Philadelphia, PA, Gail Shields & Joyce Ann McClarin both of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers: Eugene McClarin of Goldsboro, NC & Chester McClarin of Northern, VA; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
