Mt. Olive - Mr. Roderick Willard Waters, 72 of 520 S. Breazeale Ave., passed on Friday morning, June 5, 2015 at home. The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1:00pm at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 215 Sleepy Creek Road, Dudley, NC with Reverend Dr. Harold Daniel officiating. He will be laid to rest in the First Congregational UCC Cemetery, Old Mt. Olive Hwy., Dudley, NC. There will be viewing held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 1:00pm until 6:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations and Friday, June 12, 2015 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church.
He was born on June 17, 1942 in Wayne County, NC to George Waters and Mable Wynn Waters. He is survived by three brothers: Gleno R. Waters, Sr. (Berthenia) of Washington, DC, George A. Waters, Jr. (Mamie) of Voorhees, New Jersey and Frederick C. Waters; two sisters: Shirley W. Evans of Dudley, NC and Barbara W. Wilson of Raleigh, NC..
