Ruth Sutton Hamilton's Obituary
DUDLEY -- Mother Ruth Sutton Hamilton, 73, 100 Scott Drive, passed Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital. A triumphant homegoing celebration was to be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at noon at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, with the Reverend E.K. Sutton officiating. She was laid to rest in Wayne Memorial Park North. She was born May 12, 1938, to the late Lela S. Wright and Wesley Kee, and was the stepdaughter of the late Robert Wright Jr. She graduated from Dillard High School in the class 1957, and was employed by the state of North Carolina at Cherry Hospital, retiring with 30 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Hamilton Sr. She leaves precious memories with her children whom she loved and cherished, Tracie Hamilton-Alston and husband, Robert, of Dudley, Richard E. Hamilton Jr. of Princeton, Rodney V. Hamilton of the home and Sonya Hayes and husband, Jeffery, of New Bern; grandchildren, Richard (Raisha) Hamilton, Decarlus Hamilton and LaVonda Hamilton of Dudley, Courtney Alston of Goldsboro, Amanda Alston of Dudley, Jefferey Hayes II and Sydnee Hayes of New Bern; and a brother, Melvin R. Sutton of Goldsboro. A viewing was held Tuesday, March 13, 2012, from 4:00pm to 7:00 p.m. in J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel, and the family was present from 5:00pm to 6:00 p.m. A sympathetic and dignified service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
