She was born in Wayne County, NC to Walter and Hilda Daniels Smith Jr. She is survived by her husband, Omar Arita; her daughter, Sequilla Arita; her mother, Hilda J. Smith and her brothers: Walter (Anita) Smith, III and Shelton Smith.
