Goldsboro - Ms. Shirley Denise Artis Bizzell, 48 of 419 Denmark Street, passed on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC surrounded by her family. The celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Mark Church of Christ, 700 W. Ash Street, Goldsboro, NC with Bishop Alton A. Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Olive, NC. There will be a visitation held on Monday, February 24, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm with the family present from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations. She was born on December 28, 1965 in Wayne County, NC to Sallie Bell Artis and Jesse Harvey. She is survived by three sons: CPO Terrance Artis of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Prentice Artis of Goldsboro, NC and Montre Bizzell of the home; one sister, Lena D. Morrisey of Dudley, NC and one brother, Jessie "June Bug" Harvey of Goldsboro, NC; five grandchildren. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service has been entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations. The family is receiving friends at 173 Durham Lake Road, Dudley and 419 Denmark Street.
