Mrs. Theano Mary Merriweather's Obituary
Raleigh - Mrs. Theano “Tee” Merriweather, age 63, formerly of Roslyn, NY, transitioned on April 27th 2017 at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina. The funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 5th at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Raleigh. Visitation will be held at St. Raphael’s at 10 AM just prior to services. Burial will follow the funeral at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston. Funeral arrangements are being handled by J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home, 106 N. East Street, Kinston, NC.
Theano was born in Bronx, New York on August 12, 1953. She graduated from St. Pasqual
Baylon High School and continued on to receive her college degree from New York Institute of Technology (NY Tech). After working in banking and raising her son in New York, Theano began her career as a Corrections Officer in North Carolina. She retired in 2016 from a distinguished career with NC Department of Corrections.
Theano is survived by her husband, Todd Merriweather; her son, Raphael Travis Jr. (Dnika Travis); two grandchildren: Morgan Travis and Raphael Niko Travis, III; brothers: Michael Morgan, Romeo Morgan and Derek Baxter; one sister, Lesa Lee (Rodney Lee) and a host of nieces, cousins, in-laws and friends.
