Goldsboro - Ms. Velma Lee Smith, 79 of 106 Piedmont Pl, passed on Monday, April 3, 2017 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00am at St. James Church of Christ DOC, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, NC with Pastor Edmond Edwards officiating. She will be laid to rest at Fremont Cemetery, 174 Winding Branch Ave., Fremont, NC. There will be a viewing held on Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, Goldsboro, NC.
She was born on April 13, 1937 in Wayne County, NC Leroy Ford and Anna Fisher Ford. She is survived by her children.
