Goldsboro - Trustee Vernon Kornegay, 71, peacefully passed on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023 at 1:00pm with a viewing from 12:00pm to 12:45pm at Goldsboro Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 1314 Ben Brewington Court, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at the Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC.
He was born to James D. Kornegay and Addie Best Kornegay Flowers. He is survived by his siblings and other loving relatives and friends.
