Mr. Walter "Peter" Gardner Jr.'s Obituary
Kinston - Mr. Walter "Peter" Gardner Jr., 78 of 118 Collier Road, passed on Sunday, February 22, 2015. The celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Gethsemane Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1905 Old Snow Hill Road, Kinston, NC. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, March 1, 2015 from 12:00pm until 1:00pm at the church.
He was born on August 16, 1926 in Wayne County, NC to the late Walter Gardner and Blanche Jackson Gardner. He is survived by three sons: Hosea Gardner of Kinston, Josef (Valarie) Gardner of Georgia, and Emanuel (Kelly) Gardner of Florida; two daughters, Cassandra Leonard of Kinston and Tieyisha Swinson of Washington, DC; daughter-in-law, Vanesca Gardner of Georgia; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Delores “Dee” (Pendleton) Thornton of Washington, DC; Sisters-in-law Ruth Gardner, Hilda Gardner and Deloris Robinson, all of Kinston, brothers-in-law, Thomas (Dinah) Burney and Zebedee Burney, both of Kinston; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
