Goldsboro - Mr. William "Pro" Atkinson, 66 of 701 Deveraux Street, passed on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 12:00pm at Mt. Calvary MBC, 318 Denmark St, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at Old Mill Cemetery, 3718 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, NC. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 from 4:00pm until 7:00pm with the family arriving to receive friends from 6:00pm until 7:00pm at the Holy Ghost Drawing Center Church, 607 S. Slocumb Street, Goldsboro, NC.
He was born on November 22, 1948 in Wayne County, NC to Willie Lee "Buck" Atkinson and Geraldine Cox Atkinson. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Cox Atkinson of Goldsboro, NC; two sisters: Evelyn A. Starkie and Debora A. Sinclair both of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Byron (Evangeline) Atkinson of Raleigh, NC; four aunts: Essie Cox, Mary (Herman) Edwards, Sarah (David) Frazier and Alice Atkinson all of Goldsboro, NC; one uncle, Raymond (Geraldine) Atkinson of Goldsboro, NC; one great aunt, Daisy Coley of Goldsboro, NC; a special sister-in-law, Wilma F. Atkinson of Goldsboro, NC, several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
