William J. Klein's Obituary
PikevilleMr. William J. Klein, age 50, of Pikeville, North Carolina, and formerly of Scranton, returned to his Lord on Monday morning, August 20, 2012 at home. Born in Scranton on January 16, 1962, son of Robert F. Klein of New Milford, and the late Yvonne A. (Ensminger) Klein, William attended Broome Community College and the State University of New York at Binghamton. He most recently held the position of owner and Vice President of Software Engineering for CCS Technical Services. He traveled around the world working on advanced engineering and avionics projects.In his younger years, he was an altar server. While in high school, William played football for Vestal High School, earned his black belt from Hidy Ochiai's Karate, and became a lifeguard and water-safety instructor. His hobbies included scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing and walking his dog, Harley. William was a Patron Member of the National Rifle Association and held a Federal Firearms license. He was an avid reader and conversationalist. His greatest joys and treasures were his three children Kirsten, Ryan and Alex. William often asked about others and would offer kind words of encouragement and praise. He was admired and respected by many.He is also survived by his children: his daughter, Kirsten Y., and two sons, Ryan J. and Alexander W. Klein of Endwell, New York; two brothers, John and wife, Bonnie Lee of Susquehanna; and Deputy District Attorney Robert Klein and wife, Kelly-Jo of New Milford; several nieces and nephews, John Joseph, R.J., Olivia and Nicholas; an aunt, Shirley Ensminger of Scranton; an uncle, William Klein and wife, Polly of Ohio; and several cousins.Funeral services are scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from the Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 125 North Main Avenue, Scranton, with an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 322 Chestnut Street, Dunmore, to be celebrated by the Very Rev. John A. Doris, V.F., Pastor. Interment will follow at the Cathedral Cemetery, West Scranton. Local arrangements were handled by J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
