William Paul Pitt's Obituary
Goldsboro Mr. William Paul Pitt, 78 of 1107 S. Andrews Ave, died Monday night, October 1, 2012 at home surrounded by family. He will be funeralized on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the hour of 1:00pm from the First African Baptist Church, 803 Harris Street, Goldsboro, NC with Reverend Antonio Lawrence officiating. He will then be laid to rest beside his wife, Janet in Elmwood Cemetery, 500 US 117 Hwy Bypass, Goldsboro, NC. The visitation schedule for Mr. Pitt will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012 beginning at 12:00pm until 3:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. Then, he will be viewed from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Faith Presbyterian Church, 2114 N. Berkeley Blvd., Goldsboro, NC, with the family present from 6:00pm until 7:00pm. Mr. Pitt was born on March 5, 1933 in Wilson County, NC, to the late Alfonzo Pat Artis and Mildred Pitt. He proudly and honorably served his country in the US Army. He was a retired educator and administrator in the Goldsboro School System. Mr. Pitt was an active member for over 45 years of a Greek fraternity, that being Theta Omicron Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. Mr. Pitt was preceded in death by his wife, but is survived by his children: Darryl Pitt and Avis P. Canty. Professional, sympathetic and dignified service was entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
