Mr. Willie Lockwood's Obituary
Four Oaks - Mr. Willie Lockwood, 85, passed on Wednesday, June 24, 3015 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 600 11th Street, Goldsboro, NC. The family will have a private burial at a later date. There will be a visitation held on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 2:00pm until 7:00pm with the family arriving to receives friends from 6:00pm until 7:00pm in the J.B. Rhodes Jr. Memorial Chapel at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
He was born on July 29, 1929 in Cheneyville, Louisiana to Sam Lockwood and Mary Allen Lockwood. Willie is survived by his wife of 22 years, Melta Cogdell Lockwood. He is also survived by his daughter, Margaret (Charles) Stanback of Richmond, VA, his son, Keith Lockwood of Richmond, VA, his sisters, Jeanett Williams, Mary Ann Mitchell, and Eddie Mae Hooker, all of Jackson, MS; brother Tommie Lee Lockwood (Gwen) of Glenn Allen, VA; brothers-in-law Walter Cogdell of Selma, NC and Lindsey Cogdell of Four Oaks, NC; sisters-in-law Shirley Thomas and Lil Packer of Richmond, VA, Theresa Carrington (Michael) of Durham, NC, and Cathy England of Greensboro, NC. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
