New York - Ms. Betty Jean Hicks Jenkins, 71, formerly of Duplin County, NC passed on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY. The celebration of her life will be held on Monday, February 8, 2016 at 12:30 pm at KEMBA, 806 N. Pine Street, Warsaw, NC. She will be laid to rest at Devotional Gardens, 1260 NC Hwy 24 & 50, Warsaw, NC. There will be a viewing held on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 11:00 am until 12:30 pm at KEMBA.
She was born on June 10, 1944 in Duplin County, NC to Edward "Eddie Frank" Franklin Hicks and Mamie Elizabeth Bryant Hicks. She is survived by her son, Christopher Y. Jenkins of East Orange, NJ; her daughter, Nyrie L. Jenkins Jackson of Union, NJ; her brother, Eddie Frank Hicks Jr. of Greensboro, NC; her sister, Eula Hicks of Greensboro, NC; her sister-in-law, Alice Mathis Hicks of Greensboro, NC; her son-in-law, Dana S. Jackson of Union, NJ; three grandchildren: Edward, Deanna Rae and Aiyanna
