Mrs. Murphy is forever a part of our family’s history in the Central Heights community and within Wayne County Public Schools. I speak on behalf of the entire Stanley family when I say that she was, in every sense, a class act. She embodied grace, compassion, and unwavering kindness—an exemplary woman of God devoted to her family and to the education and uplift of young people.
On a personal note, Mrs. Murphy was a profound source of inspiration in my life. As I was growing up, she encouraged me—and so many others—to pursue higher education and to strive to make something meaningful of ourselves. Her words, her presence, and her belief in us left a lasting imprint.
I was especially proud to share with her that I had become her fraternity brother as a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. And in every encounter, she exemplified the very essence of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority—a finer woman whose elegance, strength, and integrity never wavered.
To the Murphy family, please know that you have our deepest love and heartfelt condolences. Mrs. Murphy’s legacy will live on in all of us she touched.
“May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.”
With love and remembrance,
The Stanley Family
