My memory of Sister Edna Smith is her singing the song she loved, Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus. She has gone home.
My memory of Sister Smith is from my childhood growing up in Baltimore in the 70s and early 1980s. I will always remember her as a beautiful soul and someone who exemplified true Christianity through her love of Jesus, her grace and her love and kindness to others. She would take my mother, Sister Washington, and my brother and me to Bethel Holy Tabernacle when we really had no other means to get to church except to walk or take the bus. Her example as a strong woman of faith stays with me and the love and kindness she showed us is a precious memory. She blessed us and I am grateful for the love, friendship and help she gave to my family. David Washington, Baltimore.
Aunt Edna as I affectionally called her we shopped at the same stores Birite and family dollar..When we finish our conversation she would say I will tell Sheila l saw you.
