Maryland - Ms. Edna L. Smith, 92, formerly of Goldsboro, completed her earthly walk of life at home on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 in Towson, Maryland. The celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:30am with a viewing from 11:00am to 11:25am at Saint Delight United Holy Church, 976 La Grange Road, La Grange, NC. She will be laid to rest at the Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC.
She was born on August 10, 1930 in Wayne County, NC to Simon and Mamie Bell Ward. She is survived one brother, James Ward of Goldsboro, NC; three sisters: Lucy Farmer (Willie) of Wilson, NC, Mary Ward, of Towson, MD and Esther Worthy (Ronald) of Philadelphia, Pa.; three brothers-in-law: Willie Fuller, Rod Chester Smith (Cynthia) and Otto Smith all of Goldsboro, NC; five sisters-in law: Mary Ward of New Castle, Del., Rev. Occie Ward and Thelma Ward both of Goldsboro, NC, Ilene Smith (Turner) of Raleigh, NC and Remorial Giles of Pikeville, NC; one aunt, Geraldine Hawthorne of Washington, D.C. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends
