Tennessee - Mr. Eldridge R. Byron,73, formerly of Mt. Olive, NC went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at home in Murfreesboro, Tennessee surrounded by loved ones. Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 21,2023 at 11:00 A.M. at Greenfield Cemetery, 471-B Greenfield Cemetery Rd, Seven Springs, NC 28578. There will be a chapel viewing on Saturday, October 21,2023 from 9:45-10:15 A.M. at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC 27534.
He was born in Mt. Olive, North Carolina, and resided in Murfreesboro for 30 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Andrades Byron, his brother Ricardo (Ricky) Byron, and his first wife Vicki Whitsett Byron.
Eldridge was a 1968 graduate of St. Emma Military Academy in Powhatan, Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Eldridge was a member of Franklin Road Baptist Church.
Eldridge (Ray) is survived by his wife Sallie G. Byron of 34 years, children Nicholas Byron, Heather Harness (Jim), Rafael Byron, Dollie Byron (Ryan), and Tiah Grimes (Ed); grandchildren: Kaylee, Lydia, Kyle, Isaiah, and Julia. He also leaves a brother Ronnie Byron, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, a host of nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends to cherish his memory.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Franklin Road Baptist Church Bus Ministry.
