Coach I found out that you left this world and went to be with Jesus Christ and God The Father and The Holy Spirit this past week. I pray for God to heal the broken hearts. Coach I will miss you and I know that I will see you again in heaven.

Mary Kay, Ash, Jarrod and the entire James family. I want to extend my DEEPEST sympathies and condolences on your loss of a truly AWESOME Friend and Brother! So many stories that I could share here with you all. Elvin is directly responsible for my coaching career as he brought me onto Goldsboro High back in 1987 as a Volunteer Assistant, while I was serving in the Air Force. I unfortunately and regrettably never had the opportunity and pleasure of actually meeting any of you 3, but I've known so many things about each of you and your respective lives since July 1987. I can still remember hearing how blessed he felt as a man that God had given him a wife like Mary Kay, who he never shied away about saying how she helped get him through college and become a better man. I also can still see the look on his face of excitement before football practice one day, when he told that he was about to become and Dad and then years later finding out that he was about to have a son with Jarrod being on the way. Please know that each of you meant the world to him as that's what the scope of everyone of our conversations entailed. He and I tried our best to keep in touch over the years, but at times we would go a while without connecting, but then we both would eventually resurface to find each other, which is why in this case, I was absolutely heartbroken and devastated when I learned of the news last week. I'm still in a state of shock, but also know that he's now onto his greatest assignment in God's Kingdom. May the Peace of God's Grace be with all of you during this time of mourning, but also in the celebration of one of God's Warriors! Sincerely, W.C. Davison (Atlanta, GA)
