Goldsboro - Retired Police Major Harold L. "Skippy" Isler Sr., 72, passed on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. The celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00am at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC, with military and police honors. There will be a viewing held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations, 1701 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, NC. The family request that you please wear a mask or facial covering.
He was born on February 15, 1948 in Wayne County, NC to Leonard Harold Isler and Julia Cole Isler. He leaves cherished memories in the hearts of his two children: Toreia Ephraim (Danny) of Raeford, NC and Harold L. Isler Jr. (Tesha) of Rockingham, NC; His grandchildren, whom he loved beyond words and they lovingly called him, "Papa": Steven Parker of Cameron, NC, Rashad Parker of Cary, NC, Destiny Isler of Rockingham, NC and Harold L. Isler, III “Trey” of Rockingham, NC; seven great grandchildren: Jaiden, Jeremiah, Julia, Jordan, Josiah, River and Ashton; one dedicated brother, Leonard Isler Jr. and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and adopted sons and daughters that he had a major impact in their lives, who will also truly miss him.
After serving his country in the U.S. Air Force, he went on the serve and protect the citizens of Goldsboro with the Goldsboro Police Department. After 26 years of dedicated service, he retired on December 31, 1996 in the rank of Major, leaving a lasting impact on the lives of so many.
