I remember James Earl when I was a little girl growing up in Goldsboro. I saw him here and there over the years at graduations and funerals. We were related by marriage, but honestly, he was the uncle that I never had. Always thoughtful and inclusive. I am SO glad that I got the chance to tell him that a few years ago.
