Goldsboro - Mr. James Ronald Stokes, 66 of 2106 S. John Street, passed on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 1:00pm at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, 206 Pearson Street, Goldsboro, NC. He will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial park, 2925 US Hwy 117 South, Dudley, NC. There will be a viewing held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 3:00pm until 7:00pm at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home & Cremations,Goldsboro, NC.
He was born on May 4, 1950 in Wayne County, NC to Magdalene W. Thompson and the late James W. Harris. He is survived by his mother, Magdalene W. Thompson of Goldsboro, NC; two daughters: Treva Herring of Raleigh, NC and Sherronda Etheridge (Issac) of Lovejoy, Georgia; two sons: Rayphael L. Foreman (Rachel) of Beaver Crossing, Nebraska and Gregory Sutton of Goldsboro, NC; two step-daughters: Tasha Boyd of Clarksville, Tennessee and Tomegue Lassiter (Terry) of Clayton, NC; one step-son, Chris Lassiter of Selma, NC; one sister, Saundra Smith (Larry); a sister at heart, Beverly Artis of Goldsboro, NC; one brother, Rev. Levern Richardson (Brenda) of Wendell, NC and nineteen grandchildren.
