Ms. Julia Flowers Lewis' Obituary
Maryland - Ms. Julia Mildred Flowers Lewis, 84, passed on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, MD. The celebration of her life will be held graveside on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 12:00pm Elmwood Cemetery, 900 W. Brick Street (Hwy 117 Bypass), Goldsboro, NC. Please remember to wear your mask and social distance.
Julia graduated from Dillard High School in 1954 and received her BS in Nursing in 1978 from University of District of Columbia. She married the late Walter Lewis, of Goldsboro, NC and they lived together in Washington, DC.
Julia was born on May 20, 1936 in Wayne County, NC to Samuel Flowers and Carrie Smith Flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Beth Lewis Thompson and granddaughter Lauren Thompson of Silver Spring, MD; her two sisters Carrie Smith (Calvert), Mary Coley (Elroy), three brothers James Flowers (Patricia), Kenneth Flowers (Carolyn) and William (Thad) Flowers (Bernice). A host of nieces and nephews, cousins and many other loving relatives and friends.
