To the Pate family you have my sincere sympathy. I did not know about the passing of Mother Julia Pate until the day after her burial. I was trying to get her new mailing address to send her a Christmas gift from St. John Baptist church in Maple Hill,NC. Her late husband Rev. Clarence Walter Pate served us at the St. John Baptist Church in Maple Hill. Mother Julia Pate always gave encouraging words of wisdom and ask that I pray for her. I last spoke with her last a couple of weeks before her passing. The St. John Baptist Church send our sympathy to the Pate Family. We pray God's peace be with you all. When our love ones have to leave us, they live on in our hearts. Weeping may endure for a night , but joy cometh in the morning. Continue to love to the Lord for strength and he will comfort you

GOD’S GARDEN
God looked around His Garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw Aunt Julia's tired face.
He put his arms around her
And lifted her to rest.
God’s Garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
God saw the road was getting rough
And the Hills were hard to climb.
So He closed her Weary eyes
And whispered “Peace be thine”
It broke our hearts to lose her
But the didn’t go alone.
For part of us went with her
The day God called her home.

My heart is saddened at the loss of our loved one, Aunt Julia Pate. I was so happy that I was able to talk with her four days before she transitioned. What a blessing it was. She mentioned to me that she was tired and I felt that in her voice. We commemorated old times. Aunt Julia was my father's last living sister. I felt compelled to write this poem after I spoke with her a few days before her passing. I was also happy that I visited with her this summer in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Rest in Peace Aunt Julia!!!!!
