Just seeing Mrs. Evans obituary...Wanting to express my sincere sympathy to all of her family and friends. Mrs. Evans was one of my most beloved teachers at Southern Wayne High School. I enjoyed, respected, and learned so much from her English classes. She was not only a teacher of English. Mrs. Evans was a true example of how real ladies should carry themselves. I thank God for good memories of her and her husband, Mr. J.D. Evans. Two wonderful people that are now together forever.
Our sincere sympathy is extended to the Evans and Waters’ families. Shirley was a very dear cousin, co-worker, friend of ours, and she was a devoted member of the First Congregational UCC. She instilled in her children the importance of spiritual growth, a strong educational background, and high moral standards. Shirley impacted the many lives that she touched. Memories of Shirley will forever be in our hearts. May God give the family comfort and strength. Arzie and Roy Mason
At an early age, I (and my sisters Orenn Lee Greene and Guinevere Lee King) grew up very close to Cousin Shirley and her brothers and sister. We were not only cousins but we were also friends. Our Mothers were very close also. Cousin Shirley has always been quiet and a very nice person. I was so very sorry to hear of her death. Rest in Peace Cousin Shirley.
