Dr. Leroy Kornegay
Dear Mrs. Bowden, Family & Friends,
I would like to express my belated condolences and deepest sympathy to his beloved spouse, family and friends. In the summer of 1965, my late wife and I received a visit from Ulysses and Evelyne at our apartment in Munich, Germany. After my military discharge at Fort Hamilton, NYC, I attended Sunday service at St. Luke Church of Christ. Also his late mother was there, whereupon she told me that he was stationed in Fulda, Germany. We contacted each other following my return to Munich on July 17, 1965. It was quite an honor to have both of them as our guests; furthermore, we learned that Evelyne had grown up in Munich near the U.S. Army McGraw Barracks. Later when her mother went to live in a nursing home near the Old South Cemetery, Evelyne asked us during our visit in Mt. Olive to pay her mother a visit. After we returned to Munich, we went to see her mother and told her about our visit in Mt. Olive with Ulysses and Evelyne. She was extremely happy and told us many things about Evelyne growing up in Munich and also about herself. Ulysses will be solely missed, because he was a good man, husband and father. May God bless Evelyne and family.
With my prayers,
Dr. Leroy Kornegay
